APR 14, 2010: The importance of helping

cats A couple of weeks ago, we posted a message on our Facebook page: "The meaning of life? Helping." In our opinion, helping, and especially helping beings that have no voice and cannot "help themselves", or "stand up for themselves", is what life is all about. We believe that the physical act of helping creates a very positive effect for us, and for the world around us. A positive action that will result in positive consequences. We realize that we sometimes help for "selfish" reasons, but that's ok. :) The reason is important, but so is the effect. This is why we suggest that even if you don't feel like it, you should try to do at least one thing in our "list of how to help animals" daily.

Being part of the fight against injustice, any injustice, is a great feeling. People talk about animal rights activism as being a "drop in the ocean" considering all the injustice that animals have to bear daily. We don't see it that way. We believe that every animal life that we save, even if it's just one, is worth the effort. But in order to save these lives, even that one life, we have to believe in the power of our actions, and to act.
